We would like to make an announcement regarding the issues we are facing and how we can work together to clear things up.

There has been a lot of confusion in our shipping process, some of the backers ordered an X-Bows in Black and Windows layout but weren't listed on the sheet. Others received the keyboard with different switches or without a wrist rest when they ordered one.  This is unacceptable and we sincerely apologize for these errors. 

We looked into the problem and realize it is due to a mismanaged database that has gone through too many editions and revisions (embarrassing, I know).  There are just too many mistakes in our database that it has become the main bottleneck in our shipping efforts.  We are dealing with data exported from 3 different platforms (Kickstarter/Indiegogo/Shopify) and a large number of backers changing their orders since their initial pledge.  We are trying to rebuild the database from scratch and make sure we get everyone's order correctly.

This is how you can help ---

We have created a Google Sheet with the Backer numbers from the different platforms.  Order specifications are listed on the same row, so please check that the details correctly match what you ordered.  Each row represents one keyboard, so if you ordered 2 keyboards you should see 2 rows under your backer number.

If there are any errors or missing data in your order whatsoever, please do not hesitate to send an email to support@x-bows.com.  Please include your backer number(s), order details and shipping address so we can make the correction and double confirm the details.

If you changed your shipping address at any point after the initial pledge, are moving to a new location, etc.  Please also send an email support@x-bows.com with your backer number(s), order details and updated shipping address.

If you want to get your X-Bows at the earliest possible time that our manufacturing schedule allows.  Please send an email to support@x-bows.com with your backer number(s), order details and shipping address to confirm you order so we can give you priority delivery (since we know it is correct!).

An important note, sending an email to support@x-bows.com is the one and only way to make changes to your order.  We are trying to keep everything in one place.  Commenting and personal messages will just add to the confusion.

Firmware Upgrade

This latest firmware update fixes many bugs including the logo light control and issues when waking up from sleep mode.

NOTE:  You MUST exit the driver software before attempting to update the firmware. DO NOT unplug the keyboard or otherwise try to cancel the update until it is completely finished.

Update on Manufacturing Timeline

We spoke to the factory and asked for a “realistic” timeline for the different X-Bows models.  The following is what we gathered:

-X-Bows with Apple/Nordic/German/UK/Dots layout: will be ready to begin manufacturing in July

-Silver X-Bows: will also be ready to begin manufacturing in July

-Numpad: we are currently working on the 4^th prototype for the magnetic connection.  If the latest prototype still doesn’t meet our standards of quality, an entirely new set of moulds (backplate, casing, etc.) must be created to make it work.

L’ensemble du projet poursuit son chemin ! Le 16 mai, nous nous sommes retrouvés au ministère de l’économie et des finances afin de recevoir notre prix « graine de boss ». Nous allons pouvoir profiter d’un fort réseau de mentors et d’investisseurs.  

Ce fût également une grande joie de participer à l’édition spéciale sur le monde animal réalisée par la chaîne Numéro 23. Vous pouvez retrouver ci-dessous l’extrait vidéo de notre passage.

La BPI (Banque Publique d’Investissement) nous soutient enfin ! Après de longs mois de procédure, nous avons pu obtenir une subvention de 30K € afin de poursuivre le design industriel du traqueur et de la base de rechargement.

Nous rencontrons un certain nombre de difficultés sur notre levée de fonds. En effet, les fonds d’investissement trouvent le projet génial mais n’investiront qu’une fois Laïka prête à être vendue, or nous avons besoin d’un montant relativement important pour lancer la production. Pour l’instant cela ne devrait pas impacter la sortie prochaine de Laïka pour Noël !

Le 24, 25 et 26 mai nous avons eu de nouveau l’occasion d’exposer Laïka au VIVA Technologie, l’un des plus grands salons technologiques d’Europe. RTL Futur nous a rencontré sur place et a voulu en découvrir plus sur Laïka. Voici l’interview réalisée en direct :
 

Une partie de l’équipe est parti pour TAIWAN début juin afin d’exposer Laïka au Computex et lui ouvrir de nouveaux horizons. Le Computex est l'un des plus gros salons mondiaux d'informatique et de high-tech. Il accueille chaque année près de 40 000 visiteurs étrangers, industriels & particuliers qui viennent découvrir les merveilles technologiques des exposants. Nous avons été invités sur ce salon par Garage +, le plus grand incubateur non boursier d'Asie, qui conviait, au Computex, 20 startups de 8 pays sélectionnés par son Global Startup Program 2018, sur le thème «Innovation for Tomorrow». C’était également l’occasion de rencontrer des fonds d’investissements et des industriels Taïwanais.

Organisé récemment, un shooting fût réalisé avec 4 d’entre vous, afin de vous faire découvrir notre Laïka en avant-première, vous rencontrer et découvrir les magnifiques bouilles de vos compagnons. Ce shooting nous permis de continuer à tester Laïka sur différentes morphologies et psychologies de chiens, et alimenter le contenu visuel disponible pour nos créatifs. Dear backers,

The whole project goes on! On May 16, we were at the French Ministry of the Economy and Finance to receive our “Graines de Boss” (Seed of Boss) award. We will benefit from a strong network of mentors and investors.

It was also a great joy to participate in the special edition of the animal world show produced by the channel number 23. You can find below the video clip of our passage (French).

The BPI (French Public Investment Bank) finally supports us! After many months of procedure we finally obtained a grant of 30k € to continue the industrial design of the tracker and the charging base.

We face some difficulties in our fundraising. Indeed, the investment funds find the project great but will invest only once Laïka will be ready to be sold. However we need a relatively large amount of money to launch the first production. For now, it should not affect Laïka's upcoming release for Christmas!

On the 24th, 25th and 26th May, we again had the opportunity to exhibit Laïka at VIVA Technologie, one of the biggest technology shows in Europe. RTL futur met us on site and wanted to discover more about Laika. Here is the live interview:

Part of the team went to TAIWAN early June to expose Laïka at Computex and open new horizons. Computex is one of the world's largest computer and high-tech trade fairs, welcoming nearly 40,000 foreign visitors each year : industrialists and individuals coming to discover the technological marvels of the exhibitors. We were invited to this show by Garage +, Asia's largest non-stock market incubator, which invited Computex 20 startups from 8 countries selected by its Global Startup Program 2018, including CamToy, on the theme "Innovation for Tomorrow". It was also an opportunity to meet Taiwanese investment funds and industrialists.

On June 27th, our Station F will open its doors on the occasion of its first anniversary! A year of startups, challenge and exchange! We invite you to come meet our entire team in this giant creative complex, and enjoy the setting in which we have been evolving for a year.

I. What stage of your life would you describe as your threshold to maturity? 

I still don‘t consider myself matured. To me, maturity, first and foremost, is one‘s responsibility to the world. I don‘t feel the burden of that responsibility just yet.

However, I remember one moment in my childhood – I was burying a pigeon. I found a shovel and dug a whole all by myself. It was the first time I felt that I was able to make a decision on my own, without anyone‘s permission.

II. The power of illusions is one of the main topics of the film. They take various forms in our daily lives. Due to fear, self-doubt or trauma we sometimes tend to react inadequately when reality fails to satisfy us. Do you think illusions are dangerous? 

Illusions that are portrayed in the film are suitable for the screen. They‘re full of romanticism, expression, while in real life they are much more complex and less dramatic. I think that all of us inevitably live in our hopes, expectations of ourselves and others. Even though illusions help us reconcile with reality in a way, it‘s still very hurtful to see them unfulfilled. However, I can’t say if illusions are dangerous or not. They’re just there. People are simply unable to see the world in an objective way.

I hope everyone is having a nice sunny Saturday afternoon. I wanted to send a quick email out to update everyone who has donated and supported this project. We have 12 days left and still have £9244 to raise. This is a massive task but Drew and Myself are still trying to find ways to do this. We will keep you all posted.

So many great things have come out of our experience with this crowdfunding campaign and your support is definitely on top of that list!

Though we didn't reach our monetary goal, we did come away with a solid start to our membership and a better understanding of how we will look to succeed with our membership goals!

All of the perks, membership cards, and stickers have been ordered and will be ready for our July 31st kick off party at 3S Artspace in Portsmouth.

If you are local, put July 31st from 6-9pm on your calendar and plan on being at the kick-off party to pick up your membership pack and perk! It's going to be a great time with local food, drink, and speakers from the community. 

Picking up your perk and membership pack at the party will also help us save our newly raised funds and reduce our impact on the environment by avoiding shipping.

For all of our wonderful long distance supporters, we will be committed to packing up and shipping of your perk and membership packs over the days following our kick-off party.
