Thank you to all who have donated to Ay Mariposa Film! We are about half-way through our campaign and have raised 1/3 of our funds. Thanks so much for all your support. We'll stay in touch about the campaign and the film's progress. Please continue to share the project with your friends and networks.
Here's a very short film we made in January 2018 to raise awareness about the plight of Santa Ana National Wildlife Refuge, which was at the time the prime target for the Trump administration's border wall construction plans. Thanks to a successful awareness campaign by Sierra Club, Defenders of Wildlife, Center for Biological Diversity and others, Congress mandated that funding in the FY2018 Homeland Security Budget could not be used to construct wall at Santa Ana. That was a win, the first time Congress has limited the use of funds for border wall construction. But it was also a deep loss, because the bill funded $1.6 billion of wall construction elsewhere on the border, including in the Rio Grande Valley where the National Butterfly Center and a critically endangered wildlife corridor are located. We need to get to the point where our taxpayer dollars are not being wasted on destructive walls anywhere on the border. Can you continue to help us with this campaign?

You posted many comments following our last update.
Thank you for sharing your concerns, questions, encouragement and recommendations.
Please find our answers by subjects in a FAQ.
- Do you have any news about the shipping?
We are very sorry, but we don't. Please read the following explanation. As we said in our previous update, we will provide you with more information as soon as we have more visibility on financing.
- Can we get feedback from backers who have received the PUP?
We have already requested backers who have received the PUP to share with us their impressions about the product. The first feedbacks were published in our September 7 update, others followed suit by publishing photos (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12YS2u4SUfwfeRBlL5QW7gsD2QMHU5UPT?usp=sharing)

We invite those who have not yet done so, to comment on their experience on our page if they wish.
- Is the project real?
The project is real. We cannot fake all the pictures and data you received in our updates. They contain a lot of details about the development and the production line. The comments from our first PUP users are also real. And if you want to see it by yourself, you are welcome to meet us in our office to discuss the PUP Scan project. Just write us at support@pupscan.com. Our office is based in a well-known incubator: Station F (stationf.co) in Paris, France.
- What did you do with the money we give you? $1,4M is a lot and you were funded 363%?
If you do a quick research on the internet, you can see that $1,4M is very low money to start a hardware company. The reason for that is the very high up-front investment in electrical, mechanical and software engineering.
The 363% are about the 2 months "Crowdfunding" campaign, not the following "In demand" campaign. It means we received $30K * 363% = $109K. We now realize that this threshold was totally disconnected from reality and we were really immature at this time.
The first part of your funds was used to finance the research, development and production setup.
The second part was spent as a pre-payment for a production batch of 10,000 units and also to book expensive and long lead time parts components such as chipsets and cameras.
We are raising extra funds for the remaining down payments so they can be released and delivered to you.
- How much money are you raising?
We are discussing with investors so we cannot divulgate this very sensitive information.
- How could the situation change so suddenly from one week to the other?
Very few startups are self-funded. We were hoping to be one of them.
As we were encountering delays with the software development we run short in cash. So we realized we would need investment. This is quite common. We thought it would be relatively easy given the extraordinary success with our Indiegogo campaign.
So we had to wait for the sample production batch before we could present a decent demo to our investors.
When we finally got the units we had only a few months in front of us. We knew it was short but we thought still feasible.
At this time we decided to keep going and communicate our last estimate of the delivery schedule with you.
When our CEO started to really meet with investors in Paris and in San Francisco, there was a bad surprise.
He found out that the investment world had changed a lot about hardware companies. Only two years ago, any successful company like Pupscan would have raised $2M easily. But this time is over, there was too many failures of very successful crowdfunded companies never encountering their market. It means before we can raise we have to demonstrate our product market fit. So this is where we are, we are on the road again exploring the market, especially B2B.
- Can you refund me please?
Unfortunately, we can no longer make refunds. We don't own the money anymore as explained in the previous answers.
- I would like to change my delivery address; how do I proceed?
When your PUP is ready to be shipped, you will receive an email to confirm or change your delivery address. You will be able to change it at this moment.
Although the campaign is closed, we will keep you updated on our progress. And we will always answer your questions.

Remember make sure you tag his name! His super fast and will get everyone's issues resolved swiftly! You will end up just getting what you last picked in your survey's if you already locked your survey's.
In other news, another reason for the slight delay in shipping is that we are UPGRADING our postage system from our local Australia Post (which sucked.. but was better then what we had prior) and now we will be using DHL from this week! They offer faster delivery, better and more detailed tracking (was a major issue for our customers) and much more reliable. So we are excited to bring this to all our awesome backers so that you can experience a much smoother shipping experience than what we had prior!

Here is what will happen next. I will contact you to make sure that your postal address is correct and to make sure that you have the correct hoodie sizes. The payment from Indiegogo to us will arrive in approximately 15 days, after which we can finalize the order and the hoodies will be produced.

Great News!
Our contributions are steadily growing. Still a bit of a ways from achieving our goal, we are encouraged by the bump in numbers over this past week.
Few know that Muhammad Ali had a mere 6-week notice from the time he got his license to to fight in Atlanta til the time of his bout against Jerry Quarry on October 26, 1970.
Six weeks to prepare for a title fight is a very short window. Ali's ability to return to the ring and prevail over Jerry Quarry was to a large degree the result of his wife Khalilah Ali. It was her faith and belief that encouraged him to stay in shape over all those years. She was steadfast in belief that Ali would return to the ring.
